About this worksheet
This kindergarten worksheet helps children connect three ideas that are the foundation of early math: a number name, the written numeral, and the quantity it stands for. Each row shows a set of simple dots for your child to count, a dotted numeral to trace, and an empty box to write the number independently. The rows go in order from 1 to 10, so children also practice the counting sequence and notice that each number is "one more" than the number before it.
How to use it: encourage your child to touch each dot while counting out loud, so every object gets exactly one number word (one-to-one correspondence). Then trace the numeral, starting at the top, and finally write it in the box without a guide. Large printing and light gray tracing lines make it easy for small hands. If your child is still building fine-motor control, tracing with a crayon or a thick pencil is perfectly fine.
The answer key shows the correct numeral for each row, which is handy for quick checking at home or in a classroom center. This page supports Common Core standards K.CC.A.3 (write numbers 0-20 and represent a number of objects with a written numeral), K.CC.B.4 (connect counting to cardinality), and K.CC.B.5 (count to answer "how many?"). Pair it with real objects like blocks or buttons for extra hands-on practice.
